EK Acquires full ownership of Claypaky
Zhongshan, China – May 13, 2025
EK Inc. has reached a definitive agreement with ARRI to acquire 100% ownership of Claypaky, the internationally renowned Italian brand specializing in entertainment and theatrical lighting. The transaction, conducted in full cooperation between the parties, is expected to close in the coming months.
Founded in 1976 and headquartered in Bergamo, Italy, Claypaky is recognized globally for its innovation, performance, and distinctive Italian design. The company expanded its reach in 2016 with the acquisition of ADB, a historic theatrical and film lighting brand established in 1920.
“This move marks a new chapter for Claypaky,” said Marcus Graser, CEO of Claypaky. “We look forward to the opportunities the new ownership brings. Being part of a group with strong development, manufacturing and supply chain capabilities opens new doors for product development, scalability, and global market access.”
Raymond Chen, CEO of EK Inc., emphasized the strategic alignment between the two companies. “The acquisition of Claypaky is a strategic investment that enriches our portfolio with a nearly 50-year-old brand rooted in Italian design and globally recognized for innovation. It also gives us a strong foothold in the European market. We see this as the next step in our evolution. With our combined manufacturing expertise, innovative spirit, and now a broader industrial backbone, we are well-positioned to continue shaping the future of entertainment lighting worldwide together.”
Claypaky will retain its headquarters and core competences in R&D and Operations in Italy, ensuring flexibility and continued local value creation in the face of global challenges. EK will provide strong production support, enabling Claypaky to remain focused on innovation while quickly responding to market changes.
